City of Kingston

Well!!!  After not hearing from the City of Kingston for a week I sent a follow up email to Neal Unsworth the Parks Development Manager for the city and one of the people I met with last week. His email response was returned quickly and it was brief. "We have discussed this internally and should have a response to you in a couple of weeks".

Kingston, if nothing else is consistently bureaucratic.  Given that we are planning to conduct the program at no cost to the city in public space it is absolutely mind blowing what is at issue that would take 2 weeks to make a decision!   I will now phone the Paul Turner the Programs Supervisor who has been great and the other gentleman who I have been dealing with.  But I think the next step will have to work the city council.  So if anyone has a good contact please share with me and we can then try that avenue.

CRAP!!!

PAINTING DAY - Wednesday 12 June

Yes, sir we will take another run at this!  After play on Wednesday who ever is available will paint 2 more permanent court outlines. If you have time to contribute we would really appreciate your help as we will do a good general cleanup in addition to the painting. Pack a lunch for yourself as it might take a couple of hours after the play time.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Playing?

It is very wet in Kingston and still heavy drizzle and I don't think I would want to play today but I have the nets, etc so if someone wants to play please let me know.  Hopefully we will be able to play tomorrow.  Vicky

NO PAINTING - 5 June

Nick has the paint and tape BUT the paint is latex and he has seen there is a risk of rain tomorrow afternoon in the Harrowsmith area.....so no painting but play will occur as planned!

Painting Day - 5 June

Well the plan for Wednesday is to play some Pickleball and then with the help of all who can stick around we will paint 2 more courts.  Yippee, no more tape

If you have time available on Wednesday after our play time bring a lunch and some old clothes.  We will get this done as quickly as possible and enjoy the rest of the summer without blue tape:)
